We evaluate power consumption by taking out the discrete Nvidia card and using the onboard HD 4600 Graphics alone. What we see is that, even as a platform, Z87 is very power efficient. Repeating advice we've provided ad nauseam, really do look at your components before shelling out lots of cash for a high-wattage PSU.
