Pifast, SETI, Lame

Before I start with the graphs, just a quick word about what to expect. The DFI should be looking to obtain as much performance parity as possible with the ASUS board, to show it's competitive with other nForce2 Ultra 400 boards, despite the memory timing handicap. While the 3.0C reference system is there to make up the numbers, any time the DFI can overtake it will be nice to see too, vindicating any AMD platform choice you might be looking to make with the DFI. Pifast first.

We satisfy all the above criteria, helping to confirm the DFI performs as it should. It's ever so slightly slower than the ASUS and with Pifast memory timing sensitive, that's to be expected.

Mmm, it's always nice to run SETI on a nicely setup, powerful, AMD platform. Low latency memory, XP3200+ and nForce2 Ultra 400 are SETI stalwarts, the DFI does very nicely, returning an almost identical time to the ASUS. Both beat the P4 without a problem, although only by a few minutes.

The DFI could have been running really slack memory timings and it wouldn't have mattered. It's all about CPU MHz here and a fast SIMD unit on the CPU. XP3200+ on both AMD motherboards means identical times. It confirms the DFI is operating correctly and quickly.
