Storage and gaming performances
We finish off with a brief but useful look at the performance of the MSI in terms of disk and USB2.0 performance, and in a single game.Storage Performance
The MSI's a bit slower than the Giga (both use the same storage controller), but both can burst higher than the ICH7R on the Intel Bad Axe. Not shown is average read speed where the MSI performs as expected and nearly identically to the Giga.
It's not as quick when testing a disk attached via USB2.0, but performance isn't horrible (not by a long shot).
Gaming
We're only showing the Splinter Cell result for brevity, all the gaming results coming out within a real-world margin of error compared to the others. Performance in games, therefore, is good on the P965 Platinum.
