CPU Tests
We wondered why the Gigabyte was a few per cent faster than the Asus in the trio of CPU-centric tests. Both boards are setup to use the same Turbo speeds on each core. Looking into the results shows that Gigabyte doesn't adhere to the BIOS settings in the way that Asus does; the X99-Gaming 5 actually runs the all-core speed up to 200MHz higher than what's inputted. This is verging on naughty from Gigabyte.
