Gamut and Colour Accuracy

We like to see non-photographic monitors offer full coverage of the sRGB gamut and at least 75 per cent of the AdobeRGB. Being able to display a wide range of colours is the first part of the puzzle, and we then examine how well the on-screen colours match-up with real life - a lower Delta-E is better, and any figure below two is considered very good.

How's that for a mixed start? The Philips BDM4037UW offers the widest colour gamut of any monitor in our line-up, but delivers the least accurate colours in its out-the-box state.
