Uniformity and Power Consumption

Colour uniformity

Maintaining uniformity on a 40in curved panel is easier said than done, yet the BDM4037UW makes a reasonable fist of things. A difference of four per cent, at most, beats our expectations.

Luminance uniformity

Colour uniformity is good, but brightness leaves something to be desired as the top of the panel is noticeably darker than the bottom. The shift in luminance isn't a problem during everyday use, and the size of the screen helps mask the fade, but this is an area in which there's room for improvement.

You might expect a 40in panel to chew through the electricity, but Philips has done well to keep power consumption down to a modest level.
