Uniformity and Power Consumption

Colour uniformity

There's room for improvement with regards to colour uniformity, as the test reveals a fair amount of variance, particularly in the centre of the screen.

Luminance uniformity

Brightness isn't perfectly consistent, either, and on closer inspection we noticed signs of backlight bleed across the bottom edge. It isn't prominent enough on our review sample to spoil the overall experience, but it can become distracting during darker scenes once you know it's there.

Power consumption, meanwhile, is excellent, with Dell managing to keep the numbers impressively low for a 27in IPS display touting a 4K resolution. Do note, however, that with HDR enabled, power consumption increased to 34 watts when displaying white.
