Brightness, Blacks and Contrast

Nearly 400 nits of brightness is decent, too, and though black levels and contrast aren't the best, Philips does the right thing in not even attempting to achieve basic HDR credentials.

The panel's 4K resolution, accurate colour and satisfactory brightness ultimate make for an enjoyable place to work, and there's no reason to rule out gaming, either. Don't expect the very best response times, but there are overdrive settings that help alleviate ghosting, and the panel also supports adaptive sync in the narrow 48-60Hz range.
