Performance - Part II

Brightness and contrast

Contrast ratio returned low results due to the high luminance of the blacks - typically these are below ~0.50 on most displays. This discrepancy is caused by ambient lighting conditions since environmental light will always interfere with panel brightness detection on the Spyder 4 Elite unit. Philips lists 250 nits of brightness and a 1000:1 typical contrast ratio on its specifications.

The last test of brightness uniformity shows the panel is well-balanced - there are no major luminance hotspots to be found. Backlight bleed is hard to find too, with only the bottom left-hand corner displaying a little.

Power consumption

Power consumption is typical of a 27in FHD panel, falling in at around 25W at maximum brightness and just 17W when calibrated to 120 nits. The Moda 2 isn't the brightest panel on the market; a trait that is reflected in power consumption.
