Wireless Performance

The Linksys WRT32X, tested via an Alienware 15 R3 laptop, is free of the shackles of our previous dual-band wireless adapter. At Location A - the room directly above the router - the £300 unit delivers solid results on the 2.4GHz band and really stretches its legs on 5GHz.

But wireless performance, as we know, can fluctuate wildly. At Location B - across the ground floor at a distance of roughly 45ft - the 5GHz band struggles to cope with the range and trusty ol' 2.4GHz proves to be the safer bet. All of the routers struggle to reach their advertised heights in this scenario, and we're intrigued to see how a mesh solution may help.

Location C, on the top floor, returns solid results. The WRT32X is without doubt a capable wireless performer, as you would expect from any modern AC3200 solution.
