Synology's specification suggests that the DS216play is capable of sequential read and write speeds 107MB/s and 91MB/s, respectively, in a RAID 1 configuration. Our own tests fall just shy of those figures, and the DS216play slots in behind the DS216j in terms of raw throughput. Both ARM-based Synology servers have one eye on efficiency, putting them well behind the Intel-based alternatives in the demanding 4K Q32 tests.
