Notes
We have chosen to compare the Crucial Ballistix Elite pack against the same capacity offerings from Corsair and also Crucial, respectively. The key changes are the memory frequency and timings. Common sense informs us that the Elite pack will be the fastest when tied to the Ryzen 7 1800X processor sat on top of an Asus X370 board flashed to the latest BIOS. We enjoyed rock-solid stability throughout the tests, which is more than can be said for the Ryzen platform at launch time.
Overclocking
We've chosen three arbitrary speeds and timings in order to evaluate the overclocking potential of the modules. Voltage was increased to 1.45V.
