Notes

We have tested from the ground-up using a fresh, up-to-date Windows build and the latest BIOS on the MSI X470 motherboard. As mentioned, the performance benefits of faster RAM can be evaluated by comparing it to generic memory running at 2,667MHz.

Overclocking

We've chosen three arbitrary speeds and timings, at 1.45V, in order to evaluate the overclocking potential of the modules. Voltage was increased to 1.45V.

  3,800MHz

(16-16-16-36-2T)
4,000MHz
(18-22-22-45-2T)
G.Skill Trident Z Royal @ 1.45V

It's good to see premium DDR4 run at high speeds on an AMD platform, and we actually topped-out at 4,050MHz using the memory's native speed, which is impressive.
