Benchmarking

I'll start with SiSoft Sandra, simply because many use it.

Decent bandwidth at the default timings.

SiSoft Sandra doesn't really take into account the timings, but he scores have risen by around 2% when going from 2.5-7-3 to 2-7-2-2.

Running Pifast, though, should tell us a little more. It loves bandwidth and low latencies.

The same CPU speed and the same memory speed. All that's different are the latencies involved. The 2-7-2-2 setting give a reasonable boost here.

3DMark 2001SE has always been a lover of low latency bandwidth. Again run at 1950MHz / 162.5FSB / 217MHz RAM. The graphics card is a genuine ATi Radeon 9800 Pro. The comparatively slow processor and super-fast graphics card make for an interesting couple.

The bandwidth-dependant tests receive the greatest boost from lower latency, as expected. Notice how the CPU speed is identical. All that's changed is the RAM's timings.
