It's strange to see the Cardea Zero Z440 fall off the pace in SPEC - it has, as we have determined, the same technology as the Corsair and Sabrent drives. A firmware hindrance, perhaps?

Temperatures are gauged by having the drive, sans motherboard heatsink, copy 20,704 files back onto itself. Whacking the Asus ROG Crosshair VIII Formula on top reduces peak temp by 9°C, so we'd firmly recommend you use motherboard M.2 cooling if available. Opting for the newer Cardea C440 may be more beneficial for under-load temperatures.
