Performance

We tested on a Gigabyte Z590 Master board equipped with a solitary USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 Type-C port. That's enough to propel the V2 to supreme sequential numbers that put other external SSDs firmly in the shade.

Yet synthetic sequential speeds are mainly for academic use. Cranking out the MB/s, we transferred three large files from the host Corsair Force MP600 to each external solution. The results aren't as electric, but even so, the V2 averages over 1GB/s. Handy if your workflow demands moving huge files between PCs.

Moving a Steam directory over from said Corsair drive doesn't provide the same percentage uplift as the sequential test because the onus is more on small-file transfers. Still, it's about 6x faster than a mechanical 2.5in drive.

The SanDisk Extreme PRO Portable SSD V2 is a consummate performer.
