CrystalDiskMark is also a huge fan of the DRAM-caching technology employed by Plextor. Comparing apples to apples, the performance of the PCIe Gen 2 x2 drive is closer to a premium SATA SSD than to a full-on PCIe solution.
Raising the queue depth to 32 users, intimating heavy concurrent load, does little to stifle modern storage devices. The PlexTurbo software remains the quickest solution, but as before, the standard drive functions a touch better than a quality SATA 6Gbps.
