Introduction

MV Cubik GamePro SFF PC

Small form-factor PCs have always been an attractive proposition to most prospective buyers. The combined advantages of svelte external dimensions, portability, whisper-quiet operation, and sheer sexiness often outweigh the lack of internal expandability and extra expensive over and above a run-of-the-mill tower case. Out-of-the-box performance, too, is often as good as a tower counterpart's, so the current small form-factor PC route is littered with chassis and internal gubbins from a number of prominent manufacturers.

Perhaps most prominent of all is Shuttle, the company that effectively started the SFF revolution. Now there's more cubes than I care to shake a stick at; one for almost every available chipset. That's why MV, better known to HEXUS readers as purveyors of high-quality laptops, has decided to launch a gamer-orientated Shuttle-based SFF PC that packs a significant power punch. The MV Cubik GamePro, using Shuttle's SN95G5 barebones chassis, arrives loaded with a capacious hard drive, GeForce 6800 GT, 1GB RAM, and Athlon 64 CPU. A gamer's delight or £1,127 shoebox? Let's find out.
