Much has been made of Ryzen's capabilities when it comes to gaming, but after plenty of in-house testing, we've come to the conclusion that you can't buy a bad gaming CPU these days. A Time Spy score of just over 6,000 is right in line with our expectations of a GeForce GTX 1070, and a 99 per cent pass rate in the Stress Test is about as good as it gets.

Nvidia's mid-range GPU is however starting to show its age, having launched way back in May 2016. When tested on modern games, GTX 1070 is best suited to a full-HD resolution with maximum image quality settings. Less demanding titles will run smoothly at QHD, but 4K UHD is a step too far for the default Ultra 7 GTX configuration.
