The Core i7-9700KF may sound somewhat new, but it is no secret that Intel's desktop range remains marooned in 14nm waters. Despite the slight change in name, the 9700KF is basically 2018's 9700K sans integrated graphics.

It is hardly a revolutionary processor, particularly in the face of Ryzen competitors that are setting new standards in multi-core performance, but it is by no means a bad chip. The 95W, eight-core, eight-thread part scales to 4.9GHz, making it a safe choice for gaming and all-round system responsiveness. On the other hand, the Ryzen-powered AWD-IT isn't a whole lot more expensive and shows huge gains when all cores are tasked.
