AMD's eight-core Ryzen 7 3700X is hardly a slouch, but it is an economical choice for a high-end gaming PC and typically benchmarks in the bottom third of the charts.

The gulf in class is illustrated by the Blender test. When rendering take places on the CPU, the Scan 3XS Vengeance RTX takes almost nine minutes to complete the scene, representing a decent but not spectacular result by today's standards. Switch over to the RTX 3080, which we know to be a GPGPU monster, and rendering is complete in an astonishing 42 seconds, the best we've seen thus far.
