BIOS

The BIOS for the ZMAXdp is based on a faithful AMI layout and feature set. In terms of tweaking options, there's nothing core CPU based you can adjust in the BIOS. That means no voltage control or multiplier adjust, and no derived HTT clock adjust. You get control over memory timings and speed, and the ECC options supported by the CPU's memory controllers, but no adjust of voltage. Personally, in terms of the some of the Opteron boards I've come across, it's very reminiscent of ASUS's BIOS implementations for SK8V.

There's basic health monitoring, adjust of the PSU's smartfans, in a simple monitoring section.

Finally, there's some adjustment of the HTT bus links between CPU0 and the NVIDIA core logic, and CPU0 and CPU1. The optimal settings in the ZMAXdp were 800Mhz between CPU0 and the core logic, and 1000MHz between the two CPUs.

It's not a BIOS for the overclocker, but you do get adjustment over most other hardware features.

You're now bound to be wonding what performance is like. I better show you.
