I was basically scammed in an RMA and it went from bad to worse. I should have heeded the warnings.

I must admit, I\'m not the greatest fan of Overclockers. Its nothing to do with thier website, pricing or the variety of stock as to be fair its very good and competitive. However with my dealing in the past I have found their customer service and delivery options shockingly poor. But on with the story ... On Wednesday evening, I bought 2 of thier B-Grade video cards (at a very cheap price I may add) to upgrade a couple of friends machines who are on very tight budgets. However along with the automated order confirmation I had another mail telling me my credit card had activated the automatic fraud detection systems. So in the morning after phoning my card vendor to find out the problem I called OcUK. After correcting the billing problem the person on the phone informed me \"Amtrak do not deliver to the Isle of Wight\" (As according to them were not part of mainland Britain O_o) so my only option was to spend £21 on Parcel Farce instead of the £8.50 on Amtrak. After expressing my unhappyness at this option the person on the other end of the phone asked me to hold the line whilst he tried to sort something out. After a minute or 2 he came back to tell me \"We can split your delivery of 2 video cards and get them sent to you next day at no extra delivery cost\" (£8.50). For once, OcUK did a spiffing job of sorting the issues at hand out. Admittedly I had to wait for over an hour to get through on the phone, and the delivery problems should not be an issue in the first place (If OcUK happen to read this, tell Amtrak that the Isle of Wight is part of \'mainland Britain\' which is why we have Portsmouth postal codes. Offshore Britain is the Isle of Man, Channel isles etc :P). But I feel a special mention should go to the guy I spoke with, although I didnt get his name he did a stand up job and helped me gain a little more faith in OcUK\'s customer care.

Orderd some Wireless network gear for my sisters new laptop, the site clearly says order before a certain time to get next day delievery, which i did, by almost 4 hours before. next day comes, and no parcel...nor is it shipped day after comes and no parcel. then i on holiday it shipped to me 3 days after ordering (everything was in stock, and money went on my credit card instantly) But as i was on holiday and my sister works 8-5 there was no chance that anyone could take the order. Then the Farce got even worse. Why? well My sister went to pick up the parcel from the amtrak \"local\" (err 50miles away) office. Got there 2 hours before closing, and the office was CLOSED. So, i come home from holiday and have to sort this order out. Amtrak since have obviously sent the package back to OCUK, however OCUK kept my money. After 5 days constantly phoning OCUK\'s numbers i gave up. And phoned Barclaycard. 2 rings, and someone answered. 10minutes later the ammount had been taken off my card. it is USELESS at aftersales support that totally lets this place down. They have a very nice, large range. and a very good website design, however thats useless without any contact details other than phone, which is ALWAYS engauged. The forums cover up ALL issues. They seem to think they are the best in the world and that all the CPU/GPU makers love them to bits. However many stores out there have more stock, and cheaper prices AND SHIP the day you order. There Heads are so far up there own arses that the lump in there throat is there nose...... ORDER ELSE WHERE WHENEVER POSSIBLE:x

I have purchased from overclockers a few times and had no initial problems with them. I have had delivery problems but that is because of the budget service they outsource to amtrak - yet still charge a premium for. The prices are pretty reasonable and the selection is quite good. What is poor, is the post sales support. I bought a set of speedlink speakers which are quite big and heavy. the remote control (size of a matchbox) is broke and I want to return it to get a new one. I\'ve been on the phone for 4 days now, trying to call support The phone constantly rings out until its cut off. I can get through to sales (funny how the buying line has no problems) but they refuse to deal with support issues. I\'ve used the contact forum which gives you an automated reply. When I finally do get a reply it tells me to contact speedlink direct (who I have done and they told me to contact the people I bought it off as they don\'t deal with non-german based enquiries direct. Please look at the poor reponse I got with regard to my \"helpful style\" request to faulty hardware noreply@overclockers.co.uk wrote: > Dear Matthew Darcy, > > You can contact Speedlink directly to arrange replacements of damaged parts.= > > http://www.speed-link.com > 004944257125133 > > Regards, > > Mark Davies > Customer Service > Overclockers UK > www.overclockers.co.uk > > PLEASE DO NOT REPLY TO THIS MESSAGE > > To contact us again please use our WebNote System at :- > > http://contact.overclockers.co.uk > > You will then receive a reply via e-mail. > > You can also call by phone :- > > Sales and Customer Service - 0870 443 0880 > Technical Support - 0871 222 8528 > > > --------------------- > In reply to > --------------------- > > In this order I purchased as set of SpeedLink Powerstixx SL-8250 Ultra 2.1= > > > I\'ve finally got chance to set these up. > > The speakers power on ok, however I believe the remote control is broke (sto= > pping me turning up the volume). > > I get no sound out of the speakers and there is no response from the remote = > control. > > I\'ve tried to test the remote control by using a learning remote control to = > see if it picked up any out put from the remote, which it didn\'t so I can on= > ly assume that the remote is dead. > > I don\'t really want to send the full speaker set back as its quite big and t= > he remote control which appears to be the problem is only the size of a box = > of matches. > > Would this be an ok way to get a replacment ? > > I\'ve not had a very good response from speedlink. > > Thanks, > > Matt > > Please notice that once again I don\'t get an reply email address or phone number, and now have to go through the tedious atempt to get a reply again. If all goes well, and amtrack are ok in your area, overclockers are \"ok\" if you have any problems, forget about it !

Poorer than poor on more than 1 occasion. No email to contact them, Takes upto 2 weeks for them to answer the phone, and they offer no refund or exchange at the actual shopfront so if u buy something that borked ur bang out of luck. Although range of parts and prices are good. thats the reason they are getting a 1 instead of a big fat zero

Edited to add: AVOID THESE LIKE THE PLAGUE-- almost another 6 weeeks since I asked for an RMA by *Recorded Delivery* (it was signed for and I have proof they received it- addressed to Mark Proudfoot, managing director, whose address you can find at companies house) these baboons are still ignoring everything. Now I have had to get the trading standards dept involved. What a sorry performance for a \"technology\" company that cant answer email or a telephone, or even a letter. I would rather have an infection of the armpit than deal with these people ever again, and I hope they rot. Original post: Bought a graphics card which developed a fault. after 6 weeks. Made several hours of solid redialling attempts in one afternoon to reach Overclockers by telephone, constantly unavailable/engaged/busy and when i did get through to a ringing tone I was cut off -three times. They have no email to contact them with, you cant get through on the phone, and I have had to resort to snail mail, recorded delivery. This is the definition of useless customer service. whats the point of saving a couple of quid when they abandon you when the stuff they sell you wont work? Its great being £101 out of pocket. Very, very poor :(

Bought a X800XL, Vantec ramsinks, quite 120mm and 80mm Tornado fans from them. When the post came, it was all thrown in a jiffy bag that looked like it had been through a war! Most of the boxes inside were bent, torn and crushed  To make it worse, those fu**ers had given me a 92mm Tornado fan and no ram sinks. I have tried to contact them by phone which is always engaged, by email (No luck) and by fax. I have shopped from them for 3 years, but I will never shop with them again. Take my advice - stay away.

Bought parts for a complete system from them. They sent me the wrong colour card reader and missed out the floppy drive entirely. Delivery was late. The purchase was made quite a while ago and I wont be going back to that store ever.

Used this company for several years, and the testament is that from the suppliers i order goods from the previous day, overclockers was the only company to deliver the next day, with all the goods in good condition. edit:- I have changed my rating to poor, though i have had excellant service from them before, they have yet to refund me a purchase which they didn\'t send, on account of one of the items being out of stock, and they specifically asked me to phone them. I also need to return some items. Currently i have been completly unable to phone as they requested. the phone is constantly busy. edit:- i will never buy from this company again, i cannot contact them

Placed an order three weeks ago which got rejected for no aparant reason as an order on eBuyer the same day went through fine. Tried to replace the order using the same delivery address as the card paying for the goods and the same. Due to their lack of methods to conact them there is no way to try and get the issue sorted and thus have had to order elsewhere.

I\'m sick and tired of OcUK with their crap and discusting attitude to their customers, first they pulled their email, then they decide.. \'oops, our phone switch is being overloaded\' and are taking well over a month to install a new telephone switch.. wow, what a supprise, now they\'ve disabled their forum registration, AND are bitching about customer complaints on the forums, now the ONLY option left is snail mail.. are they gonna move address as well? I have 2 items to RMA to them, I can\'t get through in any way other than snail mail, when I phone the phone either goes on and on, or stays engaged forever. They are increasenly cutting themselves off from their customers, if they keep this up they wont have any damn customers left. It takes alot to get me angry, and I rarely gripe as bad as this, but they\'ve went wayyy too far. Not only that, but the shipping company to Northern Ireland that they use (ParcelForce) are a complete joke, my latest order, it took them 26 hours to move my package from the \'national hub\' probibly in the middle of england somewhere, to belfast, it reached belfast around 11pm yesterday.. my town is only 13 miles away from belfast, and its still not here, i probibly wont get it until tomorrow sometime now, and thats another 30 hours.. how is that in any way possible or excusable?. I don\'t pay £20 for a \'48 hour service\' and receive 72hour+ delivery times.

bought 2 bundles of kit from them - motherboard, ram, harddisk, PSU, DVD writer etc etc All well priced, all in stock. Minor delivery issue with an item being missed out, this was corrected without question or hesitation My only gripe is that amtrack is poor in my area so because they use amtrack I sometimes suffer

This made me chortle this morning because this is so bad it\'s funny. In October (3 months ago) I ordered a the parts for a complete computer system from OCUK. It wasn\'t a very good experience because despite me paying extra for faster delivery it took a week longer than expected to get to me. They didn\'t have a Firewall I ordered in stock so they said they\'d send it on when it was. 3 months happened I got the software this morning ^_^ Actually that\'s pretty bad.

i have used ocuk before with no problems at all, but as you will read in other posts they are hopeless when things go wrong! i ordered a barebones system and a few parts from them before christmas, i recieved confirmation from them then waited patiently for 3 weeks hoping the delay was due to all the bank holidays and closing times, eventually i tried to contact them by email and was told \"we no longer respond to external emails\" was i supposed to go into their office and send an internal one from there?? i figured not so i tried to phone them, emphasis on TRIED, they wouldnt answer their phones no matter how hard i tried!! then how was i supposed to contact them? i then sent them another email asking this and have recieved no reply yet (1 week later) so i sent another stating that i wish to cancel my order, i hope that happens as i have still not heard from them?! i\'d steer clear, no matter how good some of their offers are :p
