Also showcases the world's fastest MicroSD card and a water-resistant portable SSD.

It's not all smartphones at Mobile World Congress, you know. Storage specialist SanDisk is on hand at this year's event to demonstrate a range of new innovations encompassing flash drives, microSD cards and portable SSDs.

Chief among the new products is the world's first 128GB USB Type-C flash drive, the SanDisk Ultra. Available in 16GB, 32GB, 64GB and 128GB capacities, this forward-looking drive measures just 7mm thick and is said to offer read speeds of up to 150MB/s via a USB 3.1 interface. And, of course, you'll never fall foul of trying to plug it in upside down.

SanDisk is also presenting a forthcoming Extreme PRO microSDXC UHS-II Card that we're told will be the world's fastest when it ships next month. Initially available in 64GB or 128GB capacities, the UHS Speed Class 3 card will manage read and write speeds of up to 275MB/s and 100MB/s, respectively, and is geared for 4K UHD video capture.

Last but not least, Dinesh Bahal, SanDisk's Vice President of Product Marketing, showed off one of the world's more resilient portable SSDs, the water-resistant Extreme 510. Check out all of these products in the above video.

World's first 128GB one, apparently.

Though I don't know if they read your comment then edited the article….
Getting an adapter for use USB - A connectors might be tricky though. Several USB-C plug to USB -A sockets around, but very few reverse. However, I'm sure USB-C will catch on, and adapters will become available.
