There's a fairly strong chance SCAN got those cards from distributor VIP. We spoke to Chris Brierley-Roberts, who looks after the NVIDIA channel for VIP. "The 275 is available now," he said.

"We shipped yesterday so that the etail channel would have stock for launch. The only vendor that has had stock for launch has been Palit. The original NDA was the 13th."

Richard Marsden, sales director at fellow distributor Realtime, seemed to have had success with other AIBs, however. "We've got Zotac and BFG cards available and ready to go, but not in large quantities and we haven't shipped any yet. We're expecting another batch by the end of the week," he said. "The 4890 is freely available and we've got a lot of stock."

Graham Brown, marketing manager for BFG, concurred. "NVIDIA has done well to bring a card to market earlier than expected, which out-performs the competition," he said.
