Industry veteran to drive growth in expanding mobile data security market
London, 14th December 2009 : IronKey is elated at its appointment of Colin Woodland as Director of Field Operations, EMEA for IronKey. This engagement reaffirms IronKey's focus and commitment on a region it views as vitally important at a time when it is experiencing rapid growth. Colin's first priority is to qualify IronKey's EMEA channel - what it looks and feels like, identify the right partners to align itself with and, where necessary, supplement those it has an existing relationship with.
With over 20 years experience, 12 of which in management roles, Colin has a deep understanding in the value of building and retaining successful teams. He was instrumental in establishing PGP's EMEA Channel from inception to 10 distributors and 330 resellers, all successfully delivering revenue across 25 countries, increasing the business from $1m - $25m in just 6 years. Colin's career to date has primarily focused in security, with previous roles within Vantive (now Oracle), CyberAngel and Symantec.
Speaking on his appointment, Colin said : "I am thrilled to be joining at a time when data mobility is inarguably one of the biggest areas people are concerned with. IronKey has the best encryption technology and is the most secure flash drive there is bar none. It's not just what we say, customers that I've spoken to echo this belief. Being able to offer a solution that can 100% secure data, in a way that can be centrally managed, excites me."
Easily lost or stolen, flash drives pose a risk of data loss and leakage, which carries with it the potential costs and liabilities of a data breach. In addition to allowing data to leave the organisation, flash drives can also allow malicious code to enter, infecting corporate PCs and networks with dangerous malware and crimeware programs. IronKey's secure USB drives have been validated for FIPS 140-2, Level 3 certification. It provides malware protection, hardware encryption, privacy protection, comprehensive device management capabilities and a ruggedised, tamperproof enclosure suitable for extreme conditions.
