As expected
AMD has finally made the appointment of Emilio Ghilardi as senior VP and GM of EMEA official with a press release and, as we anticipated, this coincides with the previous EMEA top man – Alberto Macchi – “leaving the company to pursue new opportunities” as the press release puts it..
Ghilardi will report to another new appointment, Gustavo Arenas – who has been promoted to overall head of sales – and will have overall responsibility for sales and marketing for EMEA. Given that Macchi’s job title was VP of sales and marketing for EMEA, this seems to be a straight replacement.
“Emilio adds tremendous global sales and marketing leadership to AMD in EMEA which we expect to help strengthen and grow relationships with our end-user customers, OEMs and distribution partners,” said Arenas.
