Windows 7 opportunity

Spire is offering the IONSTAR either with no OS or with Vista Home Premium. The street prices are expected to be around £300 and £400 respectively.

John Appleton, sales and marketing director of Spire, told us: "It's working like a dream for Windows 7," and this could be where the real opportunity for the channel comes, with the new Microsoft OS due to be launched on 22 October.

NVIDIA's Northern European sales manager, Louis Belcuore, said: "Spire has provided excellent foundations for a retail SKU solution with great potential to tap into a wide variety of markets."

"Thanks to its small size, low power consumption and competitive price point, the IONSTAR 330 will be an attractive prospect not just for consumers but sectors such as education and enterprise. This product represents a great opportunity for independent resellers to differentiate themselves from larger OEMs which lack the ION advantage."

Resellers can buy the IONSTAR 330 from Spire here.

Excellent, just what i was looking for to replace my ageing, big and noisy media center pc.

Now just need to find a retailer who stocks it…

EDIT: that was easy ARIA or a few options on ebay :-)
