World-leading TV producing giant Samsung has announced that it is in last-stage talks with Google before it looks to roll-out Google TV products next year, despite Logitech's recent financial nightmare, for which it blamed its Google TV line-up.

Samsung TV division president, Yoon Boo-keun, has suggested, however, that the company's implementation will differ to those of the competition, what exactly he means by this remains to be seen but perhaps Samsung has found a way to avoid the mistakes of Logitech. One recent improvement to the Google TV service came at the end of last month, providing an enhanced, Android 3.X-like Honeycomb interface and support for the Android Market; by the time Samsung's implementation hits the stores, the service may very likely have evolved further.

Unlike Logitech, who do not sell TVs themselves, realistically, Samsung could only stand to benefit from Google TV; current interactive TV offerings are weak and disjointed and whilst a recent push has been made to adopt HTML5 as single standard, the new platform would have no history, brand-power or existing app-base.

All this news of Google TV in Samsung products is exciting, though, what we're really looking forward to is the unveiling of Samsung's next-gen OLED displays at next year's CES. It is quite possible too, that Samsung will use this chance to officially unveil its Google TV offering as well.

I reckon Samsung might just be the people to make Google TV work, most of their newer tv's already have a LAN port and USB ready for a wireless adapter…
I hope they go back a bit and do older models….my PS50C6900 has been great for watching iPlayer but lacks any other streaming features that interest me at the moment (except for LoveFilm - need to test that soon!)

All the major brands have LAN, Net features and DNLA support on modern big TV's. I think Samsung would be wise to adopt google TV, but I think all other companies should be able to adopt it too. I think singling out Samsung will only limit the service.
