Business model

Avanquest has gone for a fully Web 2.0 business model. SendPhotos is free and is expected to spread virally as people try it out. For now that means there's no direct interest for the channel.

There are no plans for advertising and eventually revenue will be generated by offering service upgrades which could provide advanced applications like bespoke printing of photos.

When asked if a SendPhotos can also use video, Wright said: "Video is on the roadmap but handsets and data charges aren't ready for it yet."

Right now it's compatible with Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Blackberry, Android and Apple phones but not HTC - the current handset available to HEXUS.channel.

So if any readers are intrigued enough to give this new service a go, please share your experiences with us in the HEXUS.community discussion forums and let us know if it's any good.
