A worthy cause

HEXUS.net recently ran a competition in association with etailer Misco.co.uk, which offered as the prize two Acer Extensa 5630 laptops - one to the winner and one to their nominated charity.

We can now reveal that the lucky charity was the British Heart Foundation (BHF), which supports research into the prevention of heart disease and care for sufferers.

Ian Stewart, fundraising and volunteer manager at the BHF, was presented the prize by Sandy Price, Misco's UK GM.

"We are extremely grateful to Misco and Naveen Mattoo from Ipswich, the competition winner, who chose the BHF as the beneficiary charity of the Acer laptop," said Stewart. "We will use this laptop as a prize in either a raffle or charity auction to raise money for the charity and our fight against heart disease, the UK's single biggest killer."

Price added: "It's very rewarding to be able to donate such a prize to a very worthy cause which no doubt touches most of us in one form or another during our life time."
