PRESS RELEASE

Berlin, 30 August 2018– Sharp, one of the world’s leading electronic companies and a pioneer in flat-screen TVs, introduces four new 4K Ultra High Definition Smart LED TV models with big screens at the start of IFA 2018.With new 60‘‘ and 70“[1]models, Sharp adds two sizes to its already broad portfolio. The sleek devices impress not just by exceptional image quality but also by their built-inHarman Kardon®sound system and their elegant design.

Sharp already offers a wide range of 40“ to 65“[2] Ultra HD LED Smart TV devices. The four new models round off the brand portfolio at the upper end, now offering a comprehensive range to fit living rooms of any size.

Big, bigger, 70" – LC-70UI9362E and LC-70UI7652E

The new 70” LC-70UI9362E and LC-70UI7652E models are the largest 4K Ultra HD LED Smart TVs from Sharp’s European portfolio, and both are set to delight consumers with their excellent image quality and elegant design.

The LC-70UI9362E features Edge LED backlighting, which forms a line around the rim of the screen to spread the light evenly. This leads to a razor thin display which measures just 9.2mm.

On the other hand, the LC-70UI7652E includes Direct LED lighting. This allows local dimming, which controls the LEDs individually to ensure a high contrast ratio.

The LC-70UI7652E and LC-70UI9362E are available from October 2018 at a recommended retail price of EUR 1,499 and EUR 1,799 respectively.

A little smaller – LC-60UI9362E and LC-60UI7652E

Sharp’s new range of 60" Smart TVs – the LC-60UI9362E and LC-60UI7652E –also include stunning 4K Ultra-HD image quality. Customers can choose between Edge LED backlighting in the LC-60UI9362E and Direct LED in the LC-60UI7652E.

The LC-60UI7652E and LC-60UI9362E are also available from October 2018 at a price of EUR 899 and EUR 1,099 respectively.

Sharp’s new TVs are all characterised by excellent image quality. With resolutions four times better than ordinary HD, each of the new models features high precision of detail and depth of field, as well as brilliant colour reproduction, brightness and extended colour range. The integrated upscaling feature extrapolates HD content to 4K resolution, whilst all the models support Smart TV with pre-installed apps. Android mobile devices can be connected wirelessly, and a built-in triple tuner can receive programmes via cable, satellite or aerial.

A further highlight of all four models is the Harman Kardon®sound system, which creates a cinematic audio experience with superior dynamics, exceptional accuracy, and vivid sound reproduction. In addition, audio formats Dolby Digital™ and Dolby+™ are supported.

The models come with a wide array of connectivity: integrated CI+ port, 3 HDMI inputs for various external devices, 2 USB inputs, which enable reception of 2160p @ 60Hz signals, DVB-T2 HD (video codec H.265/HEVC, MPEG4 compatible), and SD card reader with 4K content support. Built-in HDR+ technology offers better contrast and bigger brightness compared to traditional TV sets and Wide Colour Gamut (UI9 series) provides much better colour reproduction.
