IFA 2019 Berlin, 06 September 2019 – Sharp, one of the world's leading electronics groups, is presenting its new UHD TV sets with Android TV™ at IFA 2019 (hall 11.2, stand 103). Sharp is offering devices equipped with the complete functionality of Android TV™ at an affordable price suitable for the mass market. Sharp presents a total of four AQUOS Android TV series with access to over 500,000+ TV shows and movies, Google Assistant and other features.

With the new AQUOS Android TVs, Sharp brings limitless entertainment and information, as well as smart home connectivity, to every household. By presenting a fully equipped, cost-effective all-in-one solution, Sharp integrates the complete range of Android TV services with all the latest features and functionalities. With Android TV, Sharp offers a smart TV platform with a clear user interface and simple intuitive operation, as you are used to with Android smartphones. Google products and services that accompany the everyday life of users, such as the Google search engine, can be used via Sharp AQUOS Android TVs.

Google Assistant[1] also helps to get things done faster. Using your voice you can control the television, quickly access your favorite entertainment, get answers from Google on screen, manage tasks; like checking appointment times, or control your connected home. If you fancy staying at home for a Halloween movie night, you can dim the lights, adjust the room temperature or lower the blinds all from the comfort of your couch. Google Assistant is activated at the touch of a button on the remote control. With the Google Play Store, a huge collection from over 5,000 different apps and media libraries covering video, music, gaming, sport or news are at the user’s disposal. In addition to regular TV programs, favourite movies and series can be streamed using Video on Demand (VoD) providers such as Netflix, Prime Video, HBO GO or Rakuten TV. Music streaming services such as Spotify, Deezer or Tidal can also be used on the TVs. Furthermore, the devices come with built-in Google Chromecast which allows content from mobile devices such as smartphones, tablets or laptops to be conveniently and wirelessly transferred to the TV.

With a resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 pixels, Sharp AQUOS Android TVs ensure detailed picture reproduction in 4K quality. Thanks to the support of HDR10 and HLG, the display delivers images in pure colour intensity with high contrast and brightness. Sharp's Active Motion 600 technology increases motion sharpness reducing the ghosting effect.

All models feature high-quality harman/kardon® loudspeaker systems specially designed for a cinematic audio experience. Integrated silk tweeters and additional woofers deliver accurate treble and deep bass for the perfect sound. DTS Virtual: X™ premium audio post-processing solution brings height to the entertainment experience. DTS Virtual:X psychoacoutsically delivers up to 7.1.4 immersive content through traditional TV speakers in the horizontal plane. In addition, DTS HD supports lossless audio playback from high-definition media such as Blu-ray or HD DVD.

The integrated triple tuner receives TV programmes via cable (DVB-C), antenna (DVB-T/T2HD) or satellite (DVB-S/S2). External devices such as soundbars or Blu-ray players can be connected to the TV via four HDMI inputs. In addition, all models have SD card readers and three USB ports for additional multimedia playback.

Sharp is planning an extensive product range with a total of four Android TV ranges. With its BL series, Sharp is presenting its first AQUOS Android TV models on the European market just in time for Christmas.
