Recurring lockdowns have given plenty of us time to get back into gaming, and chances are, you might have been joined by others in your household. For the first time since, well, forever, I've seen my partner pick up a joypad, though the sheer tension of Rayman Legends becomes a bit too much for her to handle. She's certainly not ready for Overcooked just yet.

Point is, many of us view these unusual times as an opportunity to play video games the ol' fashioned way, on a sofa alongside player two. That being the case, and to help new gamers on their way, we're asking you to identify: what are the best couch co-op games? Let us know your picks using the comments facility below.

Overcooked was great fun.
We used to love modern warfare 2, but we had 4 screens and 4 consoles in the room. As for co op on one console, I'll have to go with Mario Kart. I loved it on the n64, gamecube, wii, and wii u/switch. Never failed to make everyone competitive

Overcooked was great fun.

+1 to overcooked.

Mario Kart is still a winner, regardless of the platform. And personally I'm a big fan of Hell Divers, sadly the other half isn't so much and playing with randoms online want so fun…
Return Fire on the 3DO. Im serious!
Diablo 3, Borderlands series, classic side scrollers like streets of rage or golden axe

and not co-op but mario kart and worms
