The undisputed king of footy this year is...

Come on then fanboys! What better way to end the week then with a good argument about which football game deserves all the accolades this year, FIFA 09 or PES 09?

I made it perfectly clear in my FIFA 09 FIFA 09 and my PES 2009 reviews which side of the fence I sit on. The almighty FIFA series has come on leaps and bounds over the last few years, whereas Pro Evo is now looking as stale as a five year old pizza

To recap, in my FIFA 09 review I wrote:

It would be foolish to say that FIFA 09 offers the perfect football experience on the pitch, it doesn’t, but it does get pretty damn close to it thanks to over 250 improvements from last year’s iteration. What it does offer, in bounteous wealth, is choices - and brilliant ones at that - with the best game modes to have ever graced a football game. I said it last year and now I'm going to say it again; this years FIFA is the best yet.

On the contrary, I was once again disappointed with PES 2009. In that review I wrote:

Disappointingly though, even with the enhancements, the new Champion’s league license, improved control methods and enhanced AI, it still feels and looks like the same game on the pitch, and its feature set, once again, has been overshadowed by the innovative options offered in FIFA 09.

Here are just five very good reasons why FIFA 09 kicks PES 2009’s fat lazy arse this year and deserves to be crowned "the best football game of 2009"…
