It should come as no surprise that this year's Christmas number is Activision and Infinity Ward's Modern Warfare 2, which has now spent six weeks at the top of the multi-format charts.

Nintendo is also celebrating a happy Christmas as ELSPA's GfK-ChartTrack Top 40 revealed it had four games in the top 10.

Electronic Arts won't be too upset coming at number two with FIFA 10, despite chalking up the number one spot 11 times over the last 25 years.

Here's the final standings:

1: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (Activision)
2: FIFA 10 (EA)
3: Wii Fit Plus (Nintendo)
4: Wii Sports Resort (Nintendo)
5: Assassin’s Creed II (Ubisoft)
6: Mario & Sonic At The Winter Olympic Games (Sega)
7: New Super Mario Bros. Wii (Nintendo)
8: Forza Motorsport 3 (Microsoft)
9: Mario Kart Wii (Nintendo)
10: Just Dance (Ubisoft)

should be forza or fifa 10 imo. mw2 contains hardly anything new. At least forza and fifa 10 has more longetivty imo.

ahh well to each to their own
Having never played Fifa 10, I have absolutely no reservations in concluding that it is a highly original game, and does not fall foul of you're listed critisisms that you levelled at MW2… ;)
Interesting that half of them are Nintendo exclusives
i would have said forza 3 or fifa for longevity, but everyone loves a COD game
I found assassins creed 2 a good bash, or l4d2 :)
