If you're a U.S HEXUS.gaming reader this news story is just for you! Atari's Test Drive Unlimited will hit retail at just $39.95!

In a statement by Chief Creative Officer of Atari, Bruno Bonnell, he reveals why they've decided to offer the world's first massively multiplayer online racing game at such a cheap price.

"Innovation should be available to everyone, not a privilege for those can afford high price tags, Our GamersFirst program demonstrated the positive impact of flexibility in pricing. We believe it is our mission to deliver triple-A games that are accessible to the masses. As such, we are offering Test Drive Unlimited - a game that is being positively touted and recognized by the media - for $39.95, and furthermore, will continue users' experiences past launch by featuring new cars and free music for download," he said.

Unfortunately, the price cut won't affect the U.K market, but we'll all have something to look forward to as Atari have promised plenty of downloadable content including more cars and plenty of funky tunes.

I don't really care about the price, I already ordered mine :) http://play.com/Games/PC/4-/1011997/Test_Drive_Unlimited/Product.html. Where is the review that Nick said he was going to do on the game? I've been waiting for it for ages! :(

Think it might have an embargo date set on it. Full versions of the game haven't been shipped out yet for reviewing, but it should be soon
360 only?

Oh… but we played the pre-release version… I thought that we were able to discuss anything since I didn't sign any NDAs although I felt that I should have… :S
That's quite a spectacular price. Forgive me for being cynical but why's it this cheap?
