Dig deep

Barely two weeks after the launch of Guitar Hero 3 we're being stung with new content. It's no surprise that the official press release doesn't mention how much it will cost to download the Velvet Revolver and Foo Fighters track packs, because it's a bit of rip-off.

500 Microsoft points per track pack is far too expensive considering consumers have just forked out £70 for the game and the guitar (that's £8.50 to buy both).

If you're willing to splash the cash, however, there are some quality tracks: The Velvet Revolver Track Pack includes master recordings of “Messages,” “She Builds Quick Machines” and the 2004 Grammy Award winner for Best Hard Rock Performance, “Slither.” The Foo Fighters Track Pack includes master recordings of “The Pretender,” “This Is a Call” and the 2002 Grammy Award winner for Best Rock Song, “All My Life.”

There is also some free content on the way in the form of Boss Battle Anthems, which features original composed music by Slash and Tom Morello along with “The Devil Went Down to Georgia”.

The track packs are now available to download from the Xbox live and the Playstation Store.
