Prior to the release of Dead Space 2 later this year, the game's developer, Visceral, plans to release Dead Space: Ignition, a downloadable game that will act as a prologue to the sci-fi shooter.

At an EA press conference this week, the interactive comic-book adventure was showcased revealing the game modes, which will be focused around the survivors of the initial necromorph outbreak on The Sprawl

Dead Space Ignition will have a comic book art style with some animation and will feature three mini-games. "Hardware Crack," a hacking game "System Override," and "Trace Route, a racing game.

Ignition will be available via the XBL Marketplace and PSN in the lead up to the release of Dead Space 2 early next year. Pricing is yet to be confirmed.
