My Spider sense is tingling...
Control of Spiderman is fairly intuitive once you’ve learnt the buttons and you’ll very quickly be zipping around the levels like you’d been bitten yourself. The jump button is also the web swinging button, so jump to get in the air, hit the jump again before you land and you’ll swing away… just keep pressing it at the apex of each swing to swing all over the shop.
Combat has been simplified to some extent and even includes a version of bullet time. You’ve got the standard kick and punch buttons, which, combined with movement on the d-pad will produce different kicks and punches and if you’re good you can even take on two baddies at once and win… or I might have just fluked that. Anyway, the bullet time feature kicks in when you see Spidey’s head take on a red glow like an angry pimple. Hit the left shoulder button and you go into a slow motion mode so as to easier avoid attacks and land several quick combos of your own. The problem is, Spidey’s spider sense only kicks in when the bad guys are practically on-top of him, so mis-time hitting that button and you get treated to Spiderman getting a beating in slow motion… Perfect if you’re not a fan of him or the films, I guess.
