Arse firmly in chair

I’ve sat on the i-eX in every conceivable way you can imagine and I’ve been impressed by the way it seems to shape itself around the contours of your body and almost seem to grip you snugly in place. Its size makes it feel quite luxurious too; I felt like I should be sitting on it stroking a Persian cat rather than brandishing a controller playing FIFA. Shake it by the head rest and you can plump it up nicely ready for you to park your backside or lounge around in it any way you feel fit. It has excellent back support allowing you to sit rigidly up straight if you put your bottom right near to the base of the back support. I’ve curled up in a ball in it, lay down face first and lay down on my back with my bottom near the front of the seat and the headrest practically horizontal; and it still feels sturdy, safe and most importantly very comfortable.

The i-eX could just as easily fit into the lifestyle range of products - it doesn't just have to be a gaming chair - but as that's exactly what it's labelled as I've spent many an hour gaming in it to test out its comfort factor. For gaming, I’ve found my perfect position on the beanbag, parking my buttocks about half way down the base so that I can lean slightly backwards with my feet parked on the end and my knees pointing to the ceiling. A slight parting of the legs gives you a perfect view of the TV. It’s a very comforable position with controller occasionally resting on my belly, and having spent plenty of time gaming in this position, it's easy to see why people are buying these more expensive beanbags.

The i-eX is a sexy beanbag that grips you lovingly in its embrace. It looks and feels great. I’m from the era where beanbags were cheap so I'm still slightly unsure about whether the price point of £99 is good value for money, but then I haven't had a lot of other beanbags to compare it to.

Considering a game alone now costs approximately £40, and taking into account that the beanbag seems like it could well last a very long time, the price tag of £99 doesn’t seem too bad. I’d still have liked a holder to put my drink though and it still loses a one star rating for its price. What price would you put on comfort?

You can check out the i-EX Gaming Chair and find out where to buy it at the official website.
