Conclusion

So all in all, how does the GP32 fare? The official games are average, but for a hundred quid it's a system that lets you play DiVX and classic games on the move. For the home user who is scared of his or her PC, this is barely worth 2/10 - SmartMedia is too flimsy a format to carry many games around, and the official games are an average set of Korean-language titles.

However, move onto the savvy PC power user, and you have the ultimate toy. A little work, and you have two episodes of Family Guy, Doom II, Sam & Max Hit The Road, Monkey Island II and a few homebrew games, all on a single memory card. It's great for train journeys, car trips, or even simply sitting in lectures and wishing you'd stayed in bed. For avid coders, there's the official libraries (or an unofficial GCC implementation) available, to produce something truly cool for showing off.

The system is well built, the screen is great, and I have no hesitation in giving a score of 8/10, if and only if you're a PC power user.
