The Apple iPad. A 9.7in device that has gone from widespread ridicule to global success.
Announced in April 2010 against a backdrop of Tampax jokes and shouts of oversized iPhone, Apple's first tablet device has since taken giant strides to live up to its 'magical' billing. The figures don't lie; just 20 months after launch, over 50 million iPads have been sold around the world, and the tablet's momentum is showing no signs of letting up.
According to the grapevine, the third-generation device - certain to be dubbed either iPad 3 or iPad 2S - is now just around the corner, with all signs pointing toward an early-March unveiling.
You know it's coming and you've seen the various rumours, but what do you think needs to be done to fundamentally improve the iPad as a consumer device? Is a high-resolution retina display a must, or is greater battery life of more concern? And, if you haven't bought in to the tablet craze, what would it take to convince you to purchase an iPad 3?
It's an open discussion in the comments below, so whether you love or loathe the product, share your ideas on how can Apple improve the iPad 3.
