Watch the pennies...
We told you about a new app called Field Agent just before it launched late last year. The novel thing about this app is that it offers end-users a way of making a bit of extra cash on the side while they're going about their shopping, or whatever, by completing simple field marketing tasks.
The eponymous company recently got back in touch with us to announce it had broken the £10,000 barrier in payments to ‘agents', on an average payment of £2.50. Small change, you may be thinking, and frankly it is. But that seems to be the point of this app; it's not a get rich quick scheme, it's just a way of getting a bit of extra wedge while you're out and about anyway.
Having said that, it has only been four months, so it's fair to assume the uptake and use of the app is snowballing as more jobs are added and more end-users jump on board. The highest earner so far has pocketed £183.50, which is half an old iPad. The record for jobs completed in a day is 11, and as far as we know it's still just an iPhone app.
