At the heart of
the Neo 101, is an Intel® Atom™ processor. Designed
specifically for netbook applications, it optimises energy efficiency
in order to extend battery life. The Neo 101 also helps users stay
connected, thanks to its internal WiFi card or optional internal 3G
module, which provides fast and seamless internet access. The inclusion
of a 1.3 mega pixel camera means keeping in touch with family, friends
and colleagues via live messaging and video conferencing is easy. In
addition to the two USB ports, there is also a 34mm PCI-Express Card
expansion slot for specialist applications such as infrared or
smartcard readers.
The
Neo 101 is also extremely user-friendly, thanks to a near-full sized
keyboard which features key tops that are 90% of the size of a
desktop’s key tops. This ensures that accurate typing and
navigation on the Neo 101 is a breeze, even for adult users. It is easy
on the user’s eye too, thanks to a 10.1”
wide-screen WSVGA (1024 x 600) display. Portability is another one of
the Neo 101’s assets; weighing in at just 1.3kgs, the Neo 101
is one of the lightest netbooks available, making it an ideal travel
companion. The four-cell battery back has been neatly incorporated in
to the netbook’s robust chassis, while the internal 3G module
negates the need for vulnerable external dongles.
