NVIDIA GEFORCE2 GO GPU TO BE USED FOR COMPAQ TABLET PC FROM HP GeForce2 Go GPU Delivers Industry-Leading Power Consumption and Superb Visual Quality

LONDON - November 11, 2002 - Extending its track record for innovation in the mobile space, NVIDIA Corporation (Nasdaq: NVDA), the worldwide leader in visual processing solutions, today announced that the NVIDIA® GeForce(tm)2 Go mobile graphics processing unit (GPU) will be used for HP's highly anticipated Compaq Tablet PC TC1000. Combining the power of digital ink with a full-function PC in a thin and lightweight design, the Compaq Tablet PC TC1000 will benefit from the GeForce2 Go's outstanding graphics and power management capabilities.

"The NVIDIA graphics system provides clean, crisp visuals that are so important to business users while balancing their desire to conserve battery power in the Compaq Tablet PC," said Ted Clark, vice president of new notebook markets, HP Personal Systems Group. "It also allows users to extend their desktop with a second monitor allowing for greater productivity."

The Compaq Tablet PC functions like a notebook PC, running all of the existing Windows® applications by supporting keyboard and mouse input. It also extends the functionality of the notebook PC with pen and speech technologies. Because users can write on the screen, it is optimised for tasks that are very common in business computing environments, such as taking notes in meetings, working collaboratively or reading electronic documents.

"HP is regarded as a birthplace of invention and the Tablet PC is another example of the innovation and direction they are bringing to mobile computing," said Jeff Fisher, executive vice president of worldwide sales at NVIDIA. "The Compaq Tablet PC TC1000, featuring the GeForce2 Go GPU, will deliver a potent combination of superb visual quality and world class power management demanded by today's business users."

The GeForce2 Go GPU leverages NVIDIA PowerMizer(tm) technology to dynamically adapt to changing computing environments and control power consumption for the entire platform, elegantly balancing its excellent 2D and 3D functionality with the business user's desire for extended battery life. By combining NVIDIA's superb graphic technologies with low power consumption, the GeForce2 Go GPU has raised the graphics performance bar in notebooks to levels that were previously thought impossible.
