ASUS Chairman Jonney Shih has unveiled the highly anticipated and hugely exciting range of new tablet computers at the Consumer Electronics Show 2011 in Las Vegas.

With a rising demand for tablets which enable users to create and use content for work, learning and play, the new ASUS Eee Pad and Slate range does just that - offering a multitude of choices and features designed for both home users and businesses alike.

The four new products include the Eee MeMO, Eee Transformer, Eee Slider and Eee Slate EP121. With a choice of three screen sizes and either Windows® 7 Home Premium or Google Android® operating systems, the ground-breaking new range delivers the ultimate experience in computing mobility and flexibility.

During the annual ASUS press conference, Shih focused on the theme of innovation and choice, reiterating the strength ASUS holds in displaying cutting-edge design and superior engineering, and announced news of ASUS winning an outstanding 8 CES Innovation Awards - a reflection on the company’s persistence in bringing innovation to life and into consumer homes.

ASUS will also be demonstrating these new devices on their stand (K29) at the BETT Show (London Olympia, Wed 12th – Sat 15th January (http://www.bettshow.com).

ASUS Eee Pad Slider:

With a 10.1” IPS touch-screen and slide-out QWERTY keyboard, the Eee Slider is finger-friendly and designed for comfortable, use-anywhere typing – perfect for those who want the best of both tablet and notebook worlds. 

Powered by the NVIDIA® Tegra™ 2 (the world’s most advanced mobile processor with a dual-core CPU) and NVIDIA® GeForce® GPU, the Eee Slider delivers performances never seen before on a mobile device.

Built-in digital cameras on the front (1.2MP) and rear (5MP) of the Eee Slider allow for easy photography and video chat, while the Android® 3.0 operating system makes sharing photos by internet, email and social media sites a breeze. ASUS Eee Pad Transformer:

This lightweight, slim-design tablet is less than 13mm thick, making it super-portable and easy to pack for any trip. It integrates a custom user interface, providing easy access to the Android® 3.0 operating system via the 10.1” capacitive touch-screen, whilst front (1.2MP) and rear (5MP) digital cameras make for easy video chat and digital photography - great for busy people who want to enjoy and share all aspects of multimedia on the move alongside fast access to the web, email and other applications.

The NVIDIA® Tegra™ 2 chipset provides full support for Adobe Flash, smooth HD video conferencing and playback, delivering a lightning fast web experience and incredible mobile gaming performance when on the go.

Back at home or in the office, the optional docking station turns the Eee Transformer into a fully-fledged notebook, with a QWERTY keyboard for desktop use and extending battery life up to 16 hours. The built-in mini-HDMI port makes for easy connection to an external display, showing off full 1080p HD video playback.

 

ASUS Eee Pad MeMO:

The Eee Pad MeMO provides the ultimate in mobile flexibility and one-handed computing.  Its 7.1” capacitive touch-screen makes it small enough to slip into any jacket pocket or handbag, yet still conveniently suited for taking handwritten notes using the supplied stylus pen.
The Android® 3.0 operating system offers a wide range of productivity and entertainment software, while a Micro HDMI port means the Eee MeMO can connect to an external display for full 1080p HD video playback.

 

ASUS Eee Slate EP121

The Eee Slate EP121, with Windows® 7 Home Premium, is the perfect device for users seeking a versatile and portable tablet that is compatible with standard office software and capable of multi-tasking with other applications - packing the performance of a notebook PC into a tiny, ultra-portable tablet form.

Data input is highly intuitive and flexible, thanks to the capacitive touch-screen which responds instantly to fingertip control for easy, day-to-day use, whilst the bundled stylus and on-screen keyboard offers even greater precision and control for the finer details. The Eee Slate EP121 even supports an external Bluetooth keyboard for those wanting a more traditional desktop feel. 

Powered with an Intel® Core™ i5 dual-core processor, the Eee Slate features a 12.1” LED-backlit display with a 1280 x 800 resolution and a wide 178° viewing angle, making it perfectly suited for all kinds of multimedia, from an all-important work presentation to a relaxing movie.

The Eee Slate is available with 32GB or 64GB of SSD storage (expandable via SDXC), and up to 4GB of DDR3 RAM. All models have 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, a 2-megapixel camera, plus two USB 2.0 ports that provide full support for a wide range of standard PC accessories, along with a mini-HDMI port that is ideal for connecting to external displays.
