PRESS RELEASE
TeraStation 5210DF is populated with SSD and built in 10GbE
London, UK. May 16, 2017 – Buffalo EU, a global provider of network attached storage (NAS), USB storage and networking solutions, announces the launch of the TeraStation 5210DF, a 2-bay NAS populated with solid-state drives (SSD) and built in 10GbE-port.
The device is the ideal solution for businesses looking for external storage with extremely fast speeds. By incorporating 10GbE with SSD, it can deliver high-speed data transfers exceeding 550MB/s, which helps speed up demanding tasks such as high-definition video editing, or daily server backups.
SSDs provide higher shock and vibration resistance than HDDs, which makes the TS5210DF the ideal NAS device for use in vehicles or at construction sites.
The Duplex system firmware ensures the TS5210DF is protected from boot failure. Having a Duplex system means that firmware is located both on the SSDs used for data storage and on the mainboard, so if either one fails the system still boots from the other and recovers the broken firmware.
Features such as the TRIM Command, which enhances SSD lifetime, and the high efficiency airflow chassis with dust filter, which prevents dust entering the device, mean that businesses are provided with a reliable device.
The launch coincides with the release of Buffalo’s latest TeraStation NAS firmware update, which comes with a number of new features such as VMware integration and ability to back up to non-Buffalo devices. The firmware update will be available from 18 May, 2017.
Raj Patel, B2B Manager, Buffalo EU says: “Our customers told us they need fast data transfer speeds at affordable prices. We’re excited to launch our first SSD NAS, which is lightning fast.
Raj continues: “We are receiving more and more requests from logistics and construction companies that need vibration-proof storage. The TeraStation 5210DF has their needs covered.”
