PRESS RELEASE

ISRAEL - January 3, 2013: SolidRun Ltd has officially announced a new model CuBox. The popular, open source miniature computer platform now packs twice the memory into a sleek, slim package. Still just a mere 2 inches cubed and weighing 91 grams (3.2oz), the new CuBox Pro boasts a full 2GB of DDR3 RAM, wrapped in a re-designed body.

This upgrade means the CuBox Pro is the first - and so far only - ARM-based open source development platform that supports 2GB of DDR3 memory.

Capable of 1080p full HD output over HDMI, and using just 3 watts of power, the new CuBox Pro is better suited to high-memory, multimedia, and mobile applications. The open source development platform is easy to work with, perfect as a home media center, thin client, XBMC console or even a simple, tiny desktop replacement machine.

"We are proud to add the CuBox Pro to our product line," says Kossay Omary, CEO of SolidRun Ltd. "We believe many of our customers will benefit from the extra memory size regardless of what application they use their CuBox Pro for. Our customers will also notice that the power consumption of the new design is not impacted at all, which was a very important target for us."

The CuBox Pro is a fanless miniature computer, based on Marvell Armada 510 SoC. The device includes an infra-red receiver, gigabit ethernet port, SPDIF, eSata 3Gbps, two USB 2.0 ports and a micro-SD slot. The 800MHz dual issue ARM PJ4 processor uses the latest 32bit ARMv7 architecture and instruction set with iwmmxt SIMD and VFP hardware floating point. It supports Linux-based distributions including Ubuntu, Debian, GeeXbox and openelec.tv as well as Android operating system.

SolidRun also introduces a new housing for both the CuBox and CuBox Pro. The new, all-plastic design features a stylish combination of high polish and matte finishes.

"What a thrill this year has been...The market acceptance of the CuBox development platform and miniature computer exceeded all our forecasts," says SolidRun CTO Rabeeh Khoury. "Sometimes it was even challenging to catch up with the demand. There was so much work and investment on the software and application development side as well. The use cases for our CuBox are endless so we feel so blessed to have the support of an active community of very talented people engaged in almost all we do."

The new 2GB model CuBox Pro retails for US$159.99 (119.99 EU) with pre-orders available right now via http://www.solid-run.com.

SolidRun expects to start shipping the CuBox Pro before the end of January 2013.
