Like the look of Corsair's second high-end chassis: the Obsidian Series 700D, launched earlier this month?

If so, there's a good chance you've been itching to know exactly how much cheaper than the 800D the trimmed-down 700D will be. Fortunately for you, UK retailer SCAN.co.uk has spilled the beans, listing Corsair's latest for pre-order ahead of an April launch at a cost of £186.83*.

That's about £22 less than the full-fat Obsidian Series 800D, which although similar in appearance and identical in size, has all the 700D features plus four hot-swappable front-mounted SATA drive bays and a windowed side panel.

Question is, is the £187 asking price still too high to convince you to make a purchase? Let us know what you think in the HEXUS.community forums.

A saving of £22? That's pathetic

Nonetheless, I'd pay £22 extra not to have the window…
if nothing else, hopefully it will force the price of the Silverstone FT02 down.

Ha! You beat me to it, was about to say exactly the same.
Actually, that's only £7 cheaper in my book, since the 800D was on special offer yesterday when I looked, down to £193. If this were priced nearer £150 it'd be a very viable option for those looking to watercool without spending silly money - that's then only ~£50 more than other mid-high-end cases, and probably worth it for convenience. At over £185, it's nearer double the cost of a decent case, and starts looking like a waste of money.
I think they know that if it was a reasonable price no one would get the 800D.
